The writings you’ll find here are about things that bother me, interest me, or make me think. And at my age… thinking doesn’t come as easily as it used to.

A little about me: I almost always go by the username ManyRoads on social media and forums. Of course, I do have a real name—Mark Rabideau—but my most important title is “Opa” (grandfather). My wife and I have two grandsons.

Yes, we. I’ve been married for nearly 50 years, and to this day, I have no idea why she has put up with me for so long.

These days, I’m a geek, genealogist, historian, obsessive power-walker, and avid reader. My genealogy research, along with free historical resources, tutorials, and materials, can be found on my other website—ManyRoads.

My Irrelevant Thoughts are in the folders below, more is on the way.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • All of my work comes with absolutely no warranty, expressed or implied. However…
  • It will almost certainly work until it breaks,
though I must admit it may never work or be useful—and that would be sad.
  • If/when it breaks, you can keep all the pieces.
  • As for what you don’t like, it’s yours to do with as you will.
  • If you find my materials helpful, both you and I will be happy (at least for a while).
  • My advice is worth every penny you paid for it!
